The Roaring 20s
The Roaring 20s or casually known as the Jazz Age is the time period where America continuously grows in every aspects, industries, entertainment, technology, and many more. Invention came out one after the another making Americans' life more luxurious. The 1920s is a very big party after America had won the Great War, later known as World War I. Life prospers, people got drunk in the speakeasy, and the birth of Jazz. That's is the outlook of 1920s.
Speaking about Jazz, 1920s was when Jazz came to life. Dixieland was the most influential band for Jazz music. Also Louis Armstrong was another influential figure, his solo trumpet made his Jazz unique. Many other artists, singers, dancers, and bands were in the 1920s. They are the people who made 1920s the true Jazz Age.
Car was one of the greatest invention that transform transportation forever. In 1920s, using assembly line, Henry Ford was able to mass produce cars into the market. Making cars affordable for everybody. Commuting in the city will never be the same again, after all of sudden there is a new car out of assembly line every 10 seconds.
Despite the 18th Amendment about Prohibition, people in 1920s still go to the places called 'speakeasy'. There, they could find banned alcohol and drink to their heart content. The Prohibition seems pale in comparison to glittering of 1920s. Bootlegging also became an issue that law enforcers had to deal with. Mafia, fighting for territory, caused bloodshed all over Chicago. Every party has its downside...
